Aurora Borealis

The Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre is honoured to showcase the work of Inuvialuit artist Abraham Anghik Ruben. Born in Paulatuk and having lived in Yellowknife, we welcome Ruben back to the Northwest Territories with the exhibit Aurora Borealis.

Transcending the sculptural boundaries of what is considered traditional Inuit art, Ruben’s work explores themes of travel, humanity and mythology by merging Inuit and Norse symbolism. There is a strong narrative to Ruben’s work – stories come alive through his masterful pieces in stone, bone, bronze, and ivory.

On Thursday, April 30th, we invite you to attend an opening reception at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre. Abraham Ruben will be in attendance.
